• Flies have 6 legs and a single pair of wings.
• Baby flies are called Maggots- Some are used to make cheese!
• Fly DNA is 75% similar to human DNA.
• Some male flies sing to female flies.
• Each fly eye contains 760 eyes.
• Flies eat by vomiting liquid onto its food. YUCK!!
• “Big Fly” is an important spirit to the Navaho Indians.
• Female flies lay 500 eggs at a time.
• Egg to Adult takes 8-14 days.
• A fly lives only 30 days.( Unless you swat it first)
